Every civil engineer in India should be able to do the job in front of them with confidence — on site, at the drawing board or in the billing office — without having to learn it the hard way.
Our mission
- Close the gap between the classroom and the site. Write about the work as it is actually done: the sequence, the checks, the numbers and the mistakes to avoid.
- Tie practice to the code. Explain what the governing Indian Standards ask for and why, so a reader can go back to the official text knowing what to look for.
- Keep it affordable and reachable. Sell focused titles at prices an engineer can pay, readable on the phone they already carry.
The problem
A degree teaches the theory. The site asks different questions: how a system is laid out, what has to be checked before it is handed over, which clause of which code applies. That knowledge usually lives in senior engineers’ heads, in scattered notes, or in expensive reference books written for other markets — and a young engineer is expected to pick it up on the job.
What we do about it
CivilIndia writes and publishes its own guides. Each one takes a single subject — fire fighting systems, lifts and escalators, electrical and power systems, structures, materials and building services — and works through it the way an engineer meets it in practice. There is one collection, from one publisher, so the books share a standard of care rather than a marketplace’s average.

Free for everyone: the jobs board
The jobs board lists civil engineering vacancies — government and public-sector recruitment among them — with the details engineers look for, and a link to the official notification. It needs no account, we take no applications, and we never charge a candidate.
How we work
- Original writing. Our guides are written for CivilIndia. We do not repackage other people’s books.
- Reference, not a substitute. Our books point you to the governing standard; they do not replace it, or the judgement of the engineer responsible for a design.
- Honest prices. The price on the page is the price at checkout.
- Protecting the work. Titles are protected against copying so that writing them stays worth doing. Your purchase is a licence to read, explained plainly in our terms.
