Who we are
CivilIndia is a sole proprietorship operating https://civilindia.com. Our published contact and grievance details are on the contact page.
Your account
You must be 18 or over to hold an account. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what is done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access, and we will end every active session on your account.
We may suspend an account that is used to break these terms — in practice that means redistributing content, defeating the protection on it, or sharing one account across many people. Where we suspend an account we will tell you why.
What you are buying
You are buying a licence to read a title, not the file. The licence is personal to you, non-exclusive and non-transferable. It lets you read the title through CivilIndia on your registered devices, for as long as your account exists and, for a subscription title, for as long as that subscription runs.
The licence does not let you:
- remove, defeat or work around the protection on a title;
- copy, upload, resell, lend or otherwise redistribute a title or any part of it;
- use a title to train a machine-learning model, or extract it in bulk by any automated means;
- share your account so that several people read on one licence.
You keep the ordinary rights the Copyright Act gives you, including fair dealing for private study and research. Nothing here takes those away.
Devices
A purchased title may be read on up to three registered devices. You can see and remove your registered devices from your account page. Removing a device frees the slot; it does not affect what you own.
Previews
Free preview pages exist so you can judge a title before buying. They are part of the same licence terms: read them, do not redistribute them.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Indian rupees and include applicable taxes unless we say otherwise at checkout. Payment is taken by our payment gateway; we never receive your card or UPI credentials. If a price is displayed that is obviously wrong, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than supply at that price, and we will tell you when we do.
Refunds are governed by our refund and cancellation policy.
Availability
We try to keep the service running and your library reachable, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may take the service down for maintenance, and we may remove a title from sale. If a title you have already bought has to be withdrawn for legal reasons, we will tell you and refund you.
The free jobs board and blog
The jobs board and the blog are free and need no account. Job listings link to the employer’s own page or to the official notification, and we take no applications and charge no candidate. We source listings carefully, but the recruiter’s own notification is always the authority — check it before you rely on a date, a fee or an eligibility rule.
Engineering content is reference, not advice
CivilIndia publishes engineering reference material. It is not a substitute for the governing standard, for statutory approval, or for the judgement of a qualified engineer responsible for a specific design. Always work from the current, official text of any standard or code, and satisfy yourself that what you are doing is correct for the structure in front of you. We do not accept liability for design decisions taken on the strength of material read here.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, and except as the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 provides otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim connected with a title is limited to what you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Madhya Pradesh have jurisdiction. This does not affect any right you have to take a complaint to a consumer forum where you live.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top is when the wording last changed, and a change never applies retrospectively to a purchase you have already made.
