- Diploma in Civil Engineering (or one of 14 equivalent diplomas recognised by the department, e.g. Civil Technology, Construction Engineering, Survey Engineering, Transportation Engineering), or a 1/2-year ITI Surveyor certificate; holders of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering are NOT eligible. Basic computer knowledge, Gujarati/Hindi, and the prescribed physical standards and walking test (25 km in 4 hrs men / 14 km in 4 hrs women) are required.
