GSSSB's 78 Surveyor posts in Gujarat's Forest Department are open to civil diploma holders, but not degree holders

The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) is recruiting 78 Surveyors, Class 3, for the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Forest and Environment Department, under Advertisement No. 467/2026-27. Applications opened on ojas.gujarat.gov.in at 2 pm on 30 October 2026 and close at 11:59 pm on 20 November 2026. The exam fee must be paid online by 11:59 pm on 23 November 2026. Diploma only: the posts are open to holders of a diploma in civil engineering, or one of the equivalent diplomas the department recognises, such as Civil Technology, Construction Engineering, Survey Engineering or Transportation Engineering. A one- or two-year ITI Surveyor certificate also qualifies. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering are not eligible under the recruitment rules, so graduates should not apply. Other requirements: basic computer knowledge, Gujarati or Hindi, and the physical standards in the notice. There is also a qualifying walking test: 25 km in 4 hours for men and 14 km in 4 hours for women. Vacancies: 35 unreserved, 9 EWS, 4 SC, 10 ST and 20 SEBC. Within the total, 23 posts are reserved for women and 7 for ex-servicemen. Age: 18 to 33 years as on 20 November 2026. General women and reserved men may be up to 38, reserved women up to 43 and persons with disabilities up to 45, with ex-servicemen as per rules. Pay: Rs 26,000 a month fixed for the first five years, then Level 4, Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100. Selection: a single-stage MCQ exam (computer-based or OMR) with 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer, then document verification, the walking test and a medical examination.
